Welcome to Haohin. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Haohin.com website, user accounts, learning content, study plans, and related features and services provided by Haohin.

By registering an account, purchasing a study plan, or using Haohin, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms along with the Privacy Policy and related policies.

If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not continue using the service.

Haohin is an online Xiangqi (Chinese chess) learning platform offering study games (opening, middlegame), a chess engine to play against, and tools to help users improve their knowledge, calculation skills, and Xiangqi practice.

2. Scope of services

Haohin may provide content and features including:

  • Learning openings and middlegames from classic game records.
  • Playing against the engine at multiple levels.
  • Move suggestions and game analysis by the engine (“Learn from this game”).
  • Move scoring, progress tracking, and learning history.
  • Xiangqi tutorial articles and a multilingual interface.
  • Other educational features and content added by Haohin during development.

Some content may be provided free of charge, while other content or features require users to subscribe to a paid plan.

The specific scope of each study plan is published on Haohin at the time the user subscribes.

3. Registration and account management

Users may need to register an account to use all or part of Haohin's services.

When registering and using an account, users are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate and valid information.
  • Updating information when changes are needed.
  • Keeping login credentials and passwords secure.
  • Not selling, renting, transferring, or sharing accounts without authorization.
  • Not allowing others to use the account to avoid purchasing access.
  • Logging in on a maximum of 02 (two) devices simultaneously; a third device will be rejected until an old device is removed upon request to Haohin.
  • Notifying Haohin upon discovering signs of unauthorized access or use of the account.

Users are responsible for activity carried out through their account to the extent permitted by law.

Haohin may apply reasonable technical measures to detect account sharing, fraud, unusual access, or unauthorized use of the service.

4. Conditions of service use

Users are granted limited permission to access and use Haohin for personal learning purposes within the term and scope of the corresponding service package.

This right of use does not mean a transfer of ownership of Haohin's content, software, technology, or intellectual property.

Unless permitted by Haohin or otherwise provided by law, users may not:

  • Copy or reproduce a substantial amount of Haohin content.
  • Distribute, sell, rent, or commercialize Haohin content.
  • Share paid content with people who do not have access rights.
  • Collect or download content in bulk.
  • Use bots, crawlers, scrapers, or automated tools to collect data unlawfully.
  • Bypass or disable access control measures.
  • Interfere with systems, servers, or security mechanisms.
  • Reverse engineer, analyze, or exploit software unlawfully.
  • Use Haohin content to build or operate competing products in violation of the law or Haohin's intellectual property rights.

5. Learning packages, pricing, and terms of use

Haohin may offer multiple learning packages with different prices, terms, and access rights.

Before payment, users will be provided with the necessary information about the learning package, including, as applicable:

  • The price of the learning package.
  • The term of use.
  • The content or features accessible.
  • The payment method.
  • Renewal conditions, if any.
  • Applicable cancellation and refund conditions.

Access to the learning package begins under the conditions announced at the time of purchase and ends when the corresponding term expires, unless the user renews or otherwise agrees.

Haohin reserves the right to adjust prices or the structure of learning packages in the future. Price changes do not affect the amount the user has already paid for the current service term, unless otherwise provided by law.

6. Payment

Users are responsible for providing accurate payment information and fulfilling their payment obligations for the selected service package.

Payments may be processed through an independent payment service provider.

Depending on the payment method, Haohin may receive information such as:

  • Transaction ID.
  • Payment status.
  • Transaction value.
  • The service package purchased.
  • Transaction time.
  • Certain necessary payment or invoicing information.

If a payment fails, is canceled, is reversed, or a dispute arises, Haohin may suspend access to the relevant service package to the extent permitted by law.

7. Renewal and cancellation

For fixed-term packages that do not auto-renew, access ends when the purchased term expires. Users must purchase or renew a new package to continue using paid services.

If Haohin offers auto-renewing packages, information about the billing cycle, fees, renewal method, and how to cancel will be provided to users before registration.

Users can cancel auto-renewal through the method provided by Haohin or the payment provider.

Canceling auto-renewal generally only prevents the next payment and does not remove the right to use the period the user has already paid for, unless otherwise stated in advance or required by law.

8. Refund policy

Refunds are handled according to Haohin's Refund Policy and mandatory consumer rights under applicable law.

Users are responsible for reading the refund conditions published before purchasing a service.

If the Refund Policy differs from mandatory consumer rights under applicable law, the consumer rights under applicable law take precedence.

9. Move analyzer and scoring

Haohin uses Xiangqi engines, algorithms, and other automated systems to play against users, suggest moves, analyze games, and provide feedback for learning.

Results may include:

  • Computer moves during play.
  • Good move suggestions.
  • Scoring for each move.
  • Mistake detection and explanation of causes.
  • Suggested alternative moves.

These results are intended to support learning and are not official rankings or certifications of Xiangqi skill.

Although Haohin strives to improve system accuracy, results may be affected by many factors such as:

  • Engine search depth and calculation time.
  • Technical limits of the engine and algorithms.
  • Connection quality and system load.
  • Device used.
  • Complex positions with many equivalent moves.

Therefore, Haohin does not guarantee that every score or automated evaluation result is absolutely accurate.

10. Learning outcomes

Haohin provides tools and content to help users learn Xiangqi more effectively but does not guarantee any specific learning outcome.

Individual results may depend on:

  • Study time.
  • Practice frequency.
  • Learning ability.
  • Background knowledge.
  • Completion of lessons.
  • Methods and how the platform is used.

Haohin does not guarantee that users will achieve a specific skill level, ranking, competition achievement, or specific learning, career, or financial outcome.

Unless expressly stated, Haohin does not grant official Xiangqi (Chinese chess) certificates or rankings recognized by a state authority or a competition organization or federation.

11. Haohin's rights and obligations

Haohin is responsible for:

  • Providing services according to the published content and scope.
  • Providing necessary information about learning packages and prices before the user pays.
  • Applying reasonable measures to maintain the operation and security of the platform.
  • Receiving user support requests and complaints.
  • Protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
  • Respecting the lawful rights of consumers.

Haohin has the right to:

  • Update and improve content, interface and features.
  • Maintain or upgrade the system.
  • Apply measures to protect the platform against fraud or abuse.
  • Handle accounts that violate the Terms as provided in these Terms.
  • Adjust service packages or prices applicable to future transactions.

12. User's rights and obligations

Users have the right to:

-Complain about service quality or transactions.

  • Access the service within the scope of the registered package.
  • Be provided with information about prices, duration and scope of services.
  • Request support when encountering problems during use.
  • Exercise rights related to personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
  • Request a refund when meeting the conditions under the Refund Policy or applicable law.

Users are obliged to:

  • Pay in full the fees agreed upon.
  • Use the service for its intended purpose.
  • Keep their account secure.
  • Not infringe the rights of Haohin or third parties.
  • Not engage in conduct that affects the normal operation of the system.
  • Comply with these Terms and relevant legal regulations.

13. Intellectual property rights

Haohin's content and assets, including but not limited to:

  • Learning content and articles compiled by Haohin.
  • The organization, arrangement and compilation of study games.
  • Study materials.
  • Images and graphics.
  • Interface design.
  • Software and source code.
  • Databases.
  • Move analysis and scoring technology.
  • Algorithms and technical systems.
  • Trademarks, logos and identifying elements.

belong to Haohin or are lawfully used by Haohin and may be protected by intellectual property law.

Users may use this content only for personal learning purposes within the scope of the access rights granted.

Nothing in these Terms shall be construed as transferring Haohin's intellectual property rights to the user.

The ancient chess manuals used as sources for the opening and middlegame sections on Haohin (Plum Blossom Manual, Secrets in the Orange, Counter Plum Blossom, Zi Chu Dong Lai) are works dating from the Ming and Qing dynasties, whose authors passed away hundreds of years ago. The copyright term for these works has expired and they are in the public domain.

Haohin only uses the move data from these manuals. Haohin does not copy commentary, annotations, prefaces, illustrations, translations, layouts, or any modern editions that remain protected. The remarks, suggestions, scores, and explanations displayed on Haohin are computed automatically by the system.

The fact that the ancient manuals are in the public domain does not mean that content compiled and developed by Haohin may be freely copied or distributed. If you believe that content on Haohin infringes your copyright or related rights, you may send a notice with verifying information to hello@haohin.com; Haohin will review and amend or remove the relevant content within a reasonable time.

14. User-provided data and content

Some features of Haohin may allow users to provide data, played games, feedback, or other content.

Users retain their legal rights to the content they provide.

Users permit Haohin to process this content to the extent necessary to:

  • Provide the requested service.
  • Analyze games and score moves.
  • Generate learning feedback.
  • Maintain account functionality.
  • Provide technical support.
  • Protect the safety of the system.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

The collection and processing of personal data is set out in more detail in the Privacy Policy.

15. Prohibited conduct

Users must not:

-Impersonate another individual or organization.

  • Use Haohin for unlawful activities.
  • Commit payment or access fraud.
  • Share, sell, or rent accounts without authorization.
  • Copy or distribute content without authorization.
  • Scrape data from the platform in bulk.
  • Use bots or automated tools to abuse the service.
  • Bypass access limits or payment systems.
  • Attack, damage, or disrupt the system.
  • Distribute malicious code.
  • Access accounts, servers, or databases without authorization.
  • Infringe the intellectual property or legal rights of Haohin or third parties.

16. Suspension and termination of accounts

Haohin may suspend, restrict, or terminate access when there are reasonable grounds to believe:

  • User seriously violates the Terms.
  • Fraudulent behavior.
  • Unauthorized sharing or trading of accounts.
  • Payment is canceled or incomplete.
  • User intentionally breaches the system.
  • Account poses a risk to Haohin or other users.
  • Suspension or termination is required by law.

Where appropriate, Haohin may notify users and give them a chance to remedy the violation before terminating the account.

For serious fraud, system attacks, illegal activity, or safety risks, Haohin may take immediate action to the extent permitted by law.

Users may stop using Haohin or request account deletion in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

17. Changes, maintenance, and service interruptions

Haohin strives to keep the service stable but cannot guarantee uninterrupted operation in all cases.

The service may be temporarily interrupted due to:

  • Maintenance.
  • Software upgrades.
  • Infrastructure changes.
  • Technical incidents.
  • Security incidents.
  • Network or telecommunications incidents.
  • Incidents from third-party service providers.
  • Events beyond Haohin's reasonable control.

Haohin may update, change, or replace certain features to improve the platform.

For significant changes that materially affect paid services users have purchased, Haohin will provide notice or take appropriate action in accordance with applicable law.

18. Third-party services

Haohin may use or integrate third-party services to operate the platform, such as:

  • Payments.
  • Servers and data storage.
  • Email.
  • System analytics.
  • Security.
  • Account verification.
  • Other technical services.

Independent third-party services may be governed by their own terms and policies.

Processing of personal information through service providers is carried out in accordance with Haohin's Privacy Policy and applicable law.

19. Protection of personal information

The collection, use, storage, sharing, and protection of users' personal information is carried out in accordance with Haohin's Privacy Policy.

Users should read the Privacy Policy before registering or using the service.

20. Limitation of liability

Haohin strives to provide a stable, accurate, and useful service but cannot guarantee that the service will be entirely free of errors or interruptions.

To the extent permitted by law, Haohin is not liable for indirect damages or consequences arising from events beyond Haohin's reasonable control.

To the extent permitted by law, Haohin's total liability arising directly from paid services will not exceed the total amount the user has paid for the relevant service within the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

This provision is not intended to exclude or limit:

  • Consumer rights that the law does not permit to be excluded.
  • Liability for intentional acts or fraud.
  • Compensation liability that the law provides may not be limited.
  • Other mandatory rights or remedies under applicable law.

21. Receiving complaints

When submitting a complaint, the user should provide the necessary information for Haohin to verify the transaction or related issue.

Haohin will receive, verify and respond within a reasonable time depending on the nature of the matter and in accordance with applicable law.

22. Dispute resolution

Haohin prioritizes resolving disputes through direct discussion and negotiation with the user.

When a dispute arises, the user is encouraged to contact Haohin first so that both parties have the opportunity to verify and find an appropriate solution.

If the dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, the parties may use dispute resolution methods in accordance with the law.

This clause does not limit the consumer's right to complain, sue or other lawful rights.

23. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Vietnam.

For users in other countries or regions, mandatory consumer rights under the law applicable in the user's place of residence remain guaranteed where that law requires it and does not permit the parties to agree otherwise.

24. Changes to the Terms of Service

Haohin may update these Terms to reflect changes in:

  • Services and features.
  • Business operations.
  • Payment methods.
  • Security requirements.
  • Legal regulations.

For significant changes affecting the rights and obligations of users, Haohin may notify via the website, account, email or other appropriate means.

Updated terms take effect from the date of publication or the effective date specified in the new version.

Where the law requires the user's consent for a specific change, Haohin will obtain opinions or consent in accordance with regulations.

25. Severability

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under applicable law, the remaining parts of these Terms shall remain in effect to the extent permitted by law.

26. General provisions

Haohin's failure to immediately exercise a right or remedy under these Terms does not mean that right is waived.

These Terms of Service apply together with:

  • Payment Policy.
  • Refund Policy.
  • Complaint Resolution Policy.
  • Policy on Service Delivery Methods.
  • Specific conditions published for each package or service, if any.

If there is any discrepancy between these Terms and the specific conditions clearly published for a service package, the specific conditions of that service package shall prevail for the relevant content, to the extent permitted by law.
